HubSpot adds a no-code agent builder to its CRM, and Monday.com cuts 630 jobs to reorganize around agents—not to save money—while on August 2, the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act take effect: your chatbot must declare itself as AI. Plus, news for Spanish SMEs: the Kit Digital program is now financing AI projects with grants up to €12,000. Practical insights in four news stories.

Yesterday's radar was about the bill and control of AI; today, agents move beyond demos and are being sold as packaged products. HubSpot adds a no-code agent builder to its CRM, and Monday.com cuts 630 jobs—not to save money, but to reorganize the company around agents—while on August 2, the first transparency obligations of the EU AI Act come into force. And for Spanish SMEs, there's a specific update: the Kit Digital program is now paying for artificial intelligence projects.

AI agents arrive at the CRM without the need for coding

HubSpot has opened Agent Hub and Agent Builder in public beta for all its Professional and Enterprise customers: a single place to deploy and monitor pre-built marketing, sales, and support agents, and a low-code builder for non-technical profiles to create their own without relying on developers. The case study they showcased—Ignite Reading—went from 15-20 minutes per district to seconds, saving over 350 hours a year. For your company: if you already work on a CRM, the barrier to automation just dropped, but the value isn't in having many bots, but in them sharing context—ensuring the sales agent knows that the support agent has an open complaint with that customer; build a few coordinated agents, not a swarm that steps on each other. Monday.com lays off 20% of its workforce to rebuild around agents, not to save money

The work platform Monday.com is cutting about 630 positions, 20% of its team, to pivot as an "AI-powered work platform"; what's striking is that it is not a company in trouble: it reported $351 million in quarterly revenue (up 24%) and doubled its operating profit. This is a business redesign around AI agents, not a cost-cutting measure. For your company: the signal isn't "AI is firing people," it's that even a growing SaaS is reorganizing who does what as agents enter the workflow; before cutting or hiring, map out which repetitive tasks in your team are candidates for agents and train people to supervise them, not to compete with them. On August 2, your chatbot will have to declare it is an AI

That day, the transparency obligations of the EU AI Act (Article 50) come into force: systems that interact with people must warn that they are AI, and generated or manipulated content—images, audio, deepfake-style video—must be labeled (technical marking for what is already deployed is postponed until December). On the other hand, heavy "high-risk" requirements have been delayed to late 2027 and 2028, and the simplified regime is extended to companies with up to 750 employees and €150 million in revenue. For your company: if you have a customer service chatbot or generate AI creatives for customers, in a matter of days you must add the notice and label generated content—it's cheap now and fineable later; and if you are an SME, breathe easy: the bulk of the "high-risk" burden does not fall on you this year. There is public money to pay for your automation: Kit Digital now finances AI

Following Order TDF/39/2026, the Kit Digital catalog incorporates artificial intelligence categories for the first time—chatbots and virtual assistants, applied generative AI, predictive analytics, AI-powered RPA, and AI cybersecurity—with grants reaching up to €12,000 depending on the size of the company. The context helps: INE (Spain's National Statistics Institute) reports that 21.1% of companies with 10 or more employees now use AI, compared to 12.4% in 2024. For your company: the automation project you were going to postpone due to budget reasons might be subsidized today; fit it into one of the catalog categories, check that you are working with an authorized digitalizing agent, and apply before the remaining funds run out. What to look for tomorrow?

August 2 is the real deadline: if you have customer-facing AI, this is the week to review notices and labeling. And with Monday.com setting the pace, the operational question is yours: could you say today which three tasks of your team would pass to an agent if you had to reorganize around them?
